The CRS Exchange

What happens when financial decisions are made with AI?

CRS is building the first agent-to-agent exchange for credit.

The ground floor of AI-originated credit

In a world where half of US adults now use AI chatbots, and 42% use them to search for information,1 using a chat or an agent to find a credit product isn't a far-off reality.

Most marketing and leadership teams already know this: discovery has moved to chat.

People are already asking AI assistants about money. What doesn't exist is a regulated place where a person's agent and a lender's agent can meet, negotiate and close a loan. That's what we're building.

  1. The demand for credit isn't going anywhere. 44% of US consumers applied for credit in the last 12 months, and lenders originated $505 billion in mortgages and $211 billion in auto loans in Q2 2026.23
  2. Consumer expectations are shifting. Instead of going to Google or a family member with a financial question, people are turning to AI chat models. More than 200 million people come to ChatGPT every month for help with budgeting, investing and other money questions,4 and across ChatGPT, 40% of messages ask it to do something rather than answer a question.5

The next step is agents that act, not just answer. Visa and Mastercard are already piloting payments that AI agents start and complete, with banks including DBS and Westpac.6 Agents aren't applying for credit at scale yet. That's exactly why now is the time to define how this market works, and why lenders on the ground floor will have a say in its rules.

“This shift to agentic lending is inevitable. But what's missing is a venue.”
Stephen Hawkin, Chief Executive Officer, CRS

Enter CRS.

The CRS Exchange is a permissioned, agent-to-agent credit exchange. Consumers shop for credit through AI agents, and the Exchange lets vetted lenders meet them there, at the moment of intent. CRS moderates every exchange for permissible purpose, Know Your Agent (KYA) verification and consent, so lender agents can present offers to consumer agents.

CRS is a regulated credit reporting agency that turns regulated data into actionable insights through a robust API and infrastructure. With an existing network of 2,500+ lenders and more than 200 data products and solutions, the CRS Exchange is the next step in connecting technology platforms with data solutions.

“The next loan a person takes will be found, compared and applied for through an AI model, or by an assistant acting on their behalf.”
Ali Jelveh, Chief Technology Officer, CRS

The rules are being written now

This technology is moving quickly, and the companies that set the rules early will lead as the market grows. If lenders don't help define how agents find, compare and close credit, a single platform will define it for them. The CRS Exchange puts those rules in a regulated, neutral venue, built on compliance and regulated data.

Lenders are already building for agentic traffic on the CRS Exchange. Build on the ground floor of a new kind of exchange.

“Our exchange is the first regulated environment where lenders can meet consumer agents in the moment of intent. So as the agent is completing a task, your offerings are being analyzed and actioned by the agent in real time.”
Stephen Hawkin, Chief Executive Officer, CRS

How it works

The CRS Exchange is a regulated venue where a person's agent and a lender's agent meet, negotiate and close the loan. It has two sides, and CRS verifies both. Every exchange runs on compliance workflows, connected to live credit data from all three bureaus. CRS isn't building agents or offers. It's building the place consumer agents go to find the best offer.

  • The person's agent brings a verified credit file, pulled with the person's permission, and a mandate the person signed: the amount they want, the rate they'll accept, and how long the agent has to act. The agent can accept, counter, or walk away only inside those limits.
  • Lender agents bring their lending criteria: who they'll lend to, and at what rate, amount, and term. They bid against each other for one person, with a commitment behind every offer.
  • CRS referees. We check who may enter (every lender agent is a certified end user), set what can be negotiated and where the floors are, disclose to the person what their agent traded away (a longer term for a lower payment, autopay for a lower rate), and settle the loan: one hard inquiry for the accepted offer, the lender funds it, and the new loan is reported to all three bureaus.
